Frequently Asked Question

What should I try myself before submitting an IT Request?
Last Updated 3 years ago

You can always submit an IT Request for help, but we do have a couple of suggestions to try on your own before sending in a ticket. Most of the time these steps, as simple as they may seem, resolve the majority of issues.

  1. Is it on? Double check that the device you're trying to use is powered on.
  2. Is it connected? Are all the cords plugged in where they should be as far as you can tell? Is the device plugged into an outlet? Does that outlet work?
  3. Have you tried turning it off and back on again? Ah, the age-old adage of IT Departments everywhere. But seriously, have you tried restarting?

  1. Is there a specific error appearing? Does the message give you potential actions to try to resolve your issue? If not, make sure you take note of this error code or snap a picture of it to include in your IT Request.

That's a generic list to start with. If you've gone through this list and still have issues, definitely submit a ticket!
